Meet the Pep Band Officers

PRESIDENT
Noah Jacoby

Hellllllloooooo Pep Band! I am your 2012-2013 President, and I’m super excited about making lots of awesome music this year! I am a Junior Music Education Major, and I play trumpet in Wind Ensemble and Orchestra, and horn in Concert Band. I’ll be playing some awesome trumpet in Pep Band, and occasionally conducting when Çravixtha, our resident conductor, is abducted by aliens/is otherwise incapacitated. I’m a huge fan of having fun, and I intend to cheer loudly (especially at basketball games). My favorite part about pep band (other than “The Impression That I Get”) is the high energy, and the level of commitment I see our member bring every rehearsal to this completely volunteer ensemble. Keep on making music, and making good memories!

VICE PRESIDENT
Myles McDonald

My name is Myles McDonald and I am in my senior year this year at UPS. I am the vice president of this awesome pep band and some of my duties include helping with any decisions that need to be made, assisting the president in anything he needs, and making sure this pep band is the best in the Northwest conference. I play football and track and filed here at UPS and love pep band because I am able to play drums and express myself through music while cheering on our teams!

TREASURER
Çravixtha Acheson

Hey! I am this year’s Pep Band Treasurer. I am a super senior Music Education major with a double minor in Physics and Mathematics. My job in the band is to keep record of our budget and manage all of the funds that go toward new equipment, shirts, music, etc. Aside from the typical treasurer duties, I also oversee the organization of our website. Oh and I’m also the conductor. No big. I love pep band because music in a voluntary ensemble is the best way to create a family-style community where everyone can make awesome music and feel accepted at the same time. Just remember-- your favorite college memories won’t be the classes you took but the people you spent time with!

SECRETARY
Nika Neshyba-Nara

My name is Nika Neshyba-Nara. I am a sophomore going into politics and government, and am also the Pep Band Secretary. Woohoo! My job is to take meeting minutes and keep immaculate records of everything! That, alongside a various other duties. I’ve done Pep since my freshman year of high school and I just love the opportunities that go with it: great seats at football and basketball games, the chance to release positive energy through music as a unified group of awesome people. It’s fantastic-- I’ll likely never tire of it.
