After learning just one new language, Esperanto, you can travel all over the world, and you can speak to native Esperanto-speaking residents in each country without having to become fluent in the language spoken in every country you visit.
In addition to the benefit of easy communication, there is a worldwide membership organization called Pasporta Servo which provides a directory of addresses and contact information for Esperantists willing (and eager) to host Esperanto-speaking guests for free. (Annual membership fee required.)
Easy to speak on your journey, cheap/free travel arrangements... What more could you ask for?
